I have looked at your website with interest. You
have obviously spent a lot of time and energy in
creating the site and it is a lot of fun, albeit
that your information is a little inaccurate.
The
railings in question do not belong to the Estate.
94 Marylebone Lane is let on a 999 year lease, in
addition the signs are not ones which have been
put up by ourselves and our staff are not removing
your items.
Whilst
we do not encourage trespass there is obviously
a serious issue based around your website. The Estate,
as you are probably aware, is keen to ensure the
area looks its best and chaining bicycles to railings
detracts from this. The majority of tenants on the
Estate use basement lightwells or rear yards for
bicycle storage. This is however not always possible
or appropriate in all circumstances.
The
Estate has lobbied Westminster Council on numerous
occasions for the installation of bicycle racks
and would encourage you to do the same. Should you
wish to contact me to discuss this matter further
then please do so.

Rather
reasonable really! Not what I was expecting, but
life is full of surprises. You have to keep an
open mind.
An
Evening Standard journalist reported to me that
McGlashan Properties said they are not removing
things as they have been told not to by Howard De
Walden Estates, who insist on removing things themselves.
The
plot thickens...
